They are often marketed as <strong>food supplements<\/strong>and as such, <strong>no mutual insurance company reimburses them<\/strong> to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, some <strong>CBD preparations<\/strong>made in pharmacies on <strong>medical prescription<\/strong>can, in some cases <strong>very specific cases<\/strong> be covered by the <strong>INAMI Special Solidarity Fund<\/strong>. This mainly concerns rare or chronic pathologies, and requires prior validation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good to know: these preparations are often expensive (the price depends on the extraction method and the CBD concentration), and reimbursement is neither automatic nor systematic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d22952836fd7e0c0ddd124874f1ad1e8\" style=\"color:#457b4b\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"En_resume\"><\/span>In a nutshell<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Le <strong>Sativex\u00ae<\/strong> is <strong>the only reimbursable drug<\/strong>under strict conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>over-the-counter CBD oils<\/strong> are <strong>not reimbursed<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>compounding in pharmacies<\/strong> can, in some <strong>rare cases<\/strong>are covered by the INAMI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always talk to your doctor before considering CBD treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Talk to your general practitioner or specialist to find out if a <strong>medical prescription<\/strong> may be considered, and contact your mutual insurance company to find out what steps, if any, need to be taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sources : <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.afmps.be\/fr\/humain\/produits_particuliers\/subst_specialement_reglementees\/stupefiants_et_psychotropes\/faq_cannabis\">FAMHP - Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More and more patients are interested in CBD to relieve pain, sleep better or manage chronic disorders.
