They play an essential role in regulating numerous physiological functions such as pain, mood and sleep. They include <strong>anandamide (AEA)<\/strong> and <strong>2-AG<\/strong>which interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Phytocannabinoids<\/strong>are naturally present in the cannabis plant. They mimic the action of endocannabinoids and can influence various biological processes. The best known are <strong>THC and CBD<\/strong>But there are more than a hundred, including CBG and CBN.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cannabinoides_naturels_vs_cannabinoides_de_synthese_Quelles_differences\"><\/span><strong>Natural cannabinoids vs. synthetic cannabinoids: What are the differences?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although they share a similar chemical structure, natural and synthetic cannabinoids are fundamentally different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Les_cannabinoides_naturels\"><\/span><strong>Natural cannabinoids<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Natural cannabinoids are extracted directly from <strong>cannabis<\/strong>mainly flowers. <a href=\"https:\/\/cannavie.be\/en\/entourage-effect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">They bind to receptors <strong>CB1 and CB2<\/strong> of the endocannabinoid system and interact with other compounds in the plant to produce beneficial effects via the<strong>entourage effect<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Examples<\/strong> : THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, CBDV, THCV, ...<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Benefits<\/strong> Better known effects, gentler interactions with the body<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Usage<\/strong> : Medical, therapeutic, well-being<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Les_cannabinoides_de_synthese\"><\/span><strong>Synthetic cannabinoids<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>synthetic cannabinoids<\/strong> are substances chemically created in laboratories to imitate or intensify the effects of natural cannabinoids. They are often more potent and unpredictable, and can lead to serious side effects. <strong>side effects<\/strong> and are widely controversial. Some neocanabinoids, such as HHC (hexahydrocannabinol), THCP or THC-O, are derived from natural cannabinoids using chemical processes, while others, such as 'spice' or 'K2', are entirely artificial and much more potent, with increased risks to health. <strong>health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are generally sold in the form of dried herbs, which are not in fact herbs at all. <strong>hemp flowers<\/strong> but plant material impregnated with <strong>synthetic molecules<\/strong>. They are also available in the form of liquids for electronic cigarettes, which can be inhaled quickly and discreetly. This diversity of formats makes them more difficult to identify and increases the risk that they will be smoked. <strong>risk<\/strong> accidental consumption by unsuspecting users. They allow us to study the endocannabinoid system in greater detail and try out new treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, some of these compounds have been diverted and sold as <strong>legal\" alternatives to cannabis<\/strong>. This has given rise to extremely powerful and potentially dangerous substances. Their chemical composition is constantly evolving and they have long escaped regulation. A simple <strong>molecular modification<\/strong> allowed a banned product to return to the market in another form, making it difficult to ban them. At <strong>2017<\/strong>a turning point came with the publication of a <strong>royal decree<\/strong> regulating narcotic, psychotropic and soporific substances. This limits the proliferation of new synthetic cannabinoids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Quels_sont_les_risques_des_cannabinoides_de_synthese\"><\/span><strong>What are the risks of synthetic cannabinoids?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the <strong>natural cannabinoids<\/strong> are studied and controlled, synthetic ones are much more unpredictable. Their excessive potency and lack of regulation lead to high health risks. The effects of synthetic cannabinoids vary according to a number of factors: <strong>the type of compound, the dose, the method of consumption, individual sensitivity and the mental state of the consumer<\/strong> when taken. Unlike natural cannabinoids, these substances are often <strong>much more powerful<\/strong>This increases the risk of serious side effects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Severe side effects<\/strong> extreme anxiety, hallucinations, convulsions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Addiction and toxicity<\/strong> some are far more addictive than natural THC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Danger to health<\/strong> heart rhythm disorders, hypertension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the main dangers lies in the<strong>uncertainty about product composition<\/strong>. The active substances and their concentration can vary considerably from one product to another, making their effects unpredictable. Many countries have banned synthetic cannabinoids because of the numerous incidents reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Faut-il_craindre_tous_les_cannabinoides_de_synthese\"><\/span><strong>Should we fear all synthetic cannabinoids?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the <strong>synthetic cannabinoids<\/strong> are not bad. Some are developed for <strong>medical uses<\/strong> controlled. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Le Nabilone<\/strong>a cannabinoid (synthetic) drug used to relieve nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dronabinol<\/strong>a synthetic version of THC prescribed to prevent or treat nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These cannabinoids are regulated and prescribed within a strict framework, unlike illegal products sold on the black market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Synthetic cannabinoids are a double-edged sword.
