He imagines a\u00a0<strong>hemp car<\/strong> lightweight, durable and environmentally friendly.<\/p><p>Cars need fuel. <strong>Ford<\/strong> is also exploring the use of <strong>biofuels<\/strong> from hemp, a renewable resource capable of replacing fossil fuels. The prefix \"bio\" emphasises its biological and sustainable origin.<\/p><p>There are currently two types of biofuel:<\/p><ul><li>Oils and derivatives, such as vegetable oil fuel and biodiesel, but also animal fats and algae;<\/li><li>Alcohol such as bioethanol, from sugars, starch, cellulose or hydrolysed lignin.<\/li><\/ul><p>Le <strong>hemp<\/strong> can be used to produce biofuels because it can contain up to 80% of <b>cellulose<\/b>the material used in the ethanol production process.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3e2822c elementor-widget elementor-widget-qi_addons_for_elementor_highlight\" data-id=\"3e2822c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"qi_addons_for_elementor_highlight.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"qodef-shortcode qodef-m qodef-qi-highlight qodef-highlight-style--color\" >\n\tGrowing hemp has a number of advantages <span class=\"qodef-highlight-text\" style=\"background-image: linear-gradient(to bottom, transparent 55%, #E4E599 55%, #E4E599 100%, transparent 100%)\">environmental benefits<\/span><\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3346a96 color-scheme-inherit text-left elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3346a96\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La <strong>hemp cultivation<\/strong> requires less water, fertiliser and pesticides than other plants such as maize or soya. It is known and recognised for protecting soils from erosion thanks to its deep roots. Its rapid growth also reduces weed growth.
